Conductivity Transmitter Range
A Conductivity transmitter is designed to accurately measure the conductivity of the measured solution and then transmitter a 4-20mA signal to a receiving device. This is normally either a data logger (or online data logger), a PLC or a remote controller such as our BC7635.
The Conductivity transmitter is normally located within close proximity to the solution being measured to allow the operator to calibrate the instrument near where the measurement is taking place and to ensure a local indication of the current conductivity value.
The Conductivity value can then be transmitted up to 1000m away from the Conductivity Transmitter using the same two wires that power the device. The supply voltage is normally provided from the connected instrument although alternative options are available. The transmitted 4-20mA signal corresponds to the measuring range of the Conductivity Transmitter.
Integrated Conductivity Transmitters
An alternative to a Conductivity Cell and Conductivity Transmitter in combination is to use a Toroidal or Inductive Conductivity Transmitter. These work by measuring the fluctuation in the electromagnetic field to derive the Conductivity Value in milliSiemens (mS) which are then transmitted over the 4-20mA range.
While this type of transmitter doesn't include a localised display of the conductivity value, they only require infrequent calibration and the integrated electronics ensure that the all the required components are kept together in a single housing.

C3630 4-20mA Conductivity Transmitter
A Conductivity Transmitter is a device designed to transmit a 4-20mA current signal proportional to the measured Conductivity value over a distance.
The C3630 is available in din-rail mounting or surface mounting configuration across the following rangess:-
- 0 - 200µS
