C3630-W
4-20mA Conductivity Transmitter
The C3630-W Conductivity transmitter is supplied in an optional surface mounting weatherproof enclosure for mounting close to a dip conductivity cell or an inline conductivity cell. The C3630-W is also available in Din Rail mounting configuration for integration into a control panel or system.
The 4-20mA conductivity transmitter is designed to connect to a Conductivity Cell and send an industry standard isolated 4-20 mA signal up to 1000 metres away. The 4-20mA output is signal corresponds to the conductivity measuring range that the instrument is set too. If automatic temperature compensation is used, then the 4-20mA output signal relates to the temperature compensated conductivity value.
Conductivity Transmitter Ranges and Cell Types
The conductivity transmitter can also work with a conductivtiy cell with a conductivity cell with the following cell constants:-
- Conductivity cell with cell constant K=0.1
- Conductivtiy cell with cell constant K=1.0
- Conductivity cell with cell constant K=10.0
The C3630-W conductivity transmitter is able to work over the following ranges when using a K=0.1 conductivtiy cell:-
- 0 - 20.00µS
- 0 - 200.0µS
- 0 - 2000µS
The C3630-W conductivity transmitter is able to work over the following ranges when using a K=1.0 conductivtiy cell:-
- 0 - 200.0µS
- 0 - 2000µS
- 0 - 20.00mS
The C3630-W conductivity transmitter is able to work over the following ranges when using a K=10.0 conductivtiy cell:-
- 0 - 2000µS
- 0 - 20.00mS
- 0 - 200.0mS
Loop Powered Conductivity Transmitter
The C3630-W conductivity transmitter is a loop powered instrument, meaning that the same two wires that carry the 4 -20mA current signal are also used to power the transmitter. This signal is normally transmitted to a PLC, chart recorder or online data logger, which also provides the power to the C3630-W.
To give the C3630-W a control option, it is often paired with our BC7635 blind controller, which provides the power to the instrument, a second local display, control & alarm relays, and 4-20mA signal retransmission.
4-20mA Conductivity Transmitter Easy Calibration
The C3630-W 4-20mA Conductivity transmitter has a 2 point calibration and a very easy calibration procedure. By calibrating the Zero value and the Span value using a suitable conductivity calibration solution, the transmitted 4-20mA signal then precisely follows the corresponding conductivity measurement range.
If automatic temperature compensation is being used via a conductivity cell with automatic temperature compensation or from a separate temperature measuring device then the 4-20mA output transmission provides the compensated conductivity measurement. The temperature compensation range is from 0-100ºC with a temperature coefficient from 0-4%.
The amount of wiring to connect the transmitter and receiver is minimised and the majority of receiving instruments including AWE Instruments Model:- BC7635 were initially designed to receive the signal and power the external instrument.
The C3630 Conductivity Transmitter is a physically small device and allows precision transmission of an isolated 4-20mA signal corresponding to the Redox value. The device is straightforward to install, easy to use, simple to calibrate and designed to operate in the field for extended periods of time, requiring minimal human involvement.
