GMW0-SP2 Geared Mixer Introduction
The GMW0-SP2 is an industrial geared mixer with a 6 inch impeller, designed for slow speed stirring and agitation. The geared mixer is designed for agitation and stirring applications in process control, water treatment and effluent treatment. The GMW0-SP2 operates well under conditions required for the makeup of pH neutralisation and effluent treatment chemicals, such as a flocculent mixer or polymer mixer. It is also a suitable mixer for keeping lime in suspension for pH correction applications.
The GMW0-SP2 is the smallest of our geared mixers and fitted as standard with a 3 phase 240V 0.18kW AC motor, driving a reduction ratio worm gearbox with a 6 inch / 250mm impeller.
The standard impeller has a low shear co-efficient and is driven with a speed of 140RPM, making it ideal for use on smaller dosing tanks up to approximately 300 litre dosing tanks when used with low viscosity liquids.
GMW0-SP2 Geared Mixer with 6 inch Impeller
The GMW0-SP2 utilises a 6 inch impeller which is used to create a continuous stirring motion within the tank or vessel. This ensures that the solution is under constant agitation from the industrial stirrer; improving the contact time and reaction potential when used for the agitation of reagent; mixing polymers or the make-up of effluent treatment chemicals.
The 6 inch impeller is not tapered to ensure the industrial stirrer generates a large contact area, thus providing both a better contact area for more efficient stirring and reduces the shearing coefficient when used as a flocculant mixer.
GMW0-SP2 Worm Gearbox Mixer
The 6 inch propeller is directly driven to the worm gear box. The shaft is machined at our production facility in the Stafford, UK. The shaft is held securely in place within the worm gearbox itself without a coupling. This enables us to offer a wide variety of reduction ratios including 70 RPM, 95 RPM and 140 RPM.
In addition to offering a number of gearbox ratio options we machine the shafts and impellers in-house, allowing the shaft length to be manufactured to specification.
Our 3 blade flat 6 inch impeller is designed to optimise the stirring capability of the mixer for a number of different applications. Therefore, the GMW0-SP2 is suitable for use as a geared mixer for viscous solutions as well as for flocculent or polymer makeup.
GMW0-SP2 Geared Mixer with 0.18kW 3 Phase Motor
The standard GMW0-SP2 is fitted with a TEFC (Totally Enclosed Fan Cooled) motor and manufactured to IP55 specifications. The standard motor is a 240 V three phase 0.18kW AC. We also offer a 380 Volt motor, flame proof motor and 240 VAC Single phase motor.
GMW0-SP2 Chemically Resistant Geared Mixer
For use with process chemicals, we offer the GMW0-SP2 with the wetted parts (shaft and 250mm impeller) coated in PVC. This makes the mixer suitable for mixing applications where the process chemical reacts with 316 stainless steel.
The shaft and 6" impeller are coated as a single piece which ensures that any fastenings are resistant to the reagents being used in the process.
We strongly recommend when considering a chemically resistant high speed mixer, that the materials being used are compatible with PVC.
GMW0-SP2 Geared Mixer Features & Benefits
The GMW0-SP2 is a geared mixer, suitable for a wide variety of applications and unlike our High speed Industrial Mixers it doesn't have to be contained with a tank where the height of the liquid covers the impeller.
Designed for light and medium industrial duties the GMW0-SP2 has been used as an industrial stirrer for keeping lime solutions in suspension as well as a geared mixer for flocculant make up, pH neutralisation or other process control applications.
Manufactured in house at our Stafford facility, the GMW0-SP2 is available with a number of customisation options, depending upon the duty required. We have fitted the geared mixer with a Food Grade lubricant, 240 VAC single phase motor, 3 phase 380 VAC motor, flame proof motor, or with chemically resistant coating.
The GMW0-SP2 is not suitable for fitting with a secondary impeller, instead we would suggest the GMW1 or GMW11 for consideration, but if you require or are considering any other specific customisation for use with your process, please get in touch.
The 6 inch impeller offers efficient mixing and is designed for smaller vessels. The GMW0-SP2 can be used as a geared mixer for viscous solutions and if you're unsure on the precise mixer to suit your application, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
